The first industrial installation of the WFE technology was carried out in December 2017 through a connection of a series of electrolysers to a Cummins power generator which normally uses natural gas in 2017.
The normal consumption of the generator is 525m3 of natural gas with an operational cycle of 24/7. This was a major challenge for WFE to create a series of electrolysers which is to function constantly (24/7) without stopping. New principles were established in relation of autonomous refilling of the electrolyte in the electrolysers themselves.
The electronic control unit of the systems was configured accord to the need for the system to function without stopping. Multiple electrolysers were connected in parallel and a 100-litre water reservoir was used, and the parameters were monitored remotely for the first time, resulting in a reduction in fuel consumption.
