Water Fuel Engineering develop clean technologies to work alongside traditional fuels to lessen the impact on the environment and to produce substantial cost benefits for end users.

Focus on research
Water Fuel Engineering specialise in the development of oxy-hydrogen applications. Our  Electrolysers use water and a small amount of electricity to produce clean hydrogen and oxygen gas as discovered by the Bulgarian engineer, Yull Brown in 1970; (the so-called “Brown Gas”). The result is a clean but very efficient 'water' fuel that can be used in many traditional engines and technologies. The 
HydroGen® eliminates the need for fuel storage or transportation. Its applications include motor vehicle engines, home heating and industrial combustion processes. We continually strive to build upon our success and to further improve the technology, by working with key partners including the University of Sheffield. Our Bulgarian engineers have built upon the early successes of Yull Brown and now, working with the finest minds in the UK, we have produced an efficient unit with a range of applications.

As our name suggests we devote our attention to the most efficient, abundant and environmentally friendly fuel of the future. Oxy-hydrogen generation allows the usage of a fuel produced from an abundant and cheap source, a fuel that generates a high energy output, and one that creates no harmful exhaust gases. HydroGen
® does not present storage or transportation concerns, and can be easily applied across a range of  industries. By focusing on oxy-hydrogen technology development and applications, we aim to build an alternative energy source for the future.

Clean energy for the future
With fossil fuels becoming more scarce and costly, the emphasis on future technologies for energy production has been on alternative fuels. These have so far included a number of sources that are naturally replenished. Solar, wind and tidal energy based systems have seen growing popularity, as well as an increasing interest from both governments and commercial investors. Hydrogen is also recognised for the contribution it can make as a sustainable and secure energy source, however until now the emphasis has been on the industrial scale production, distribution , storage and conversion of the hydrogen into electrical energy. HydroGen® recognises that fossil fuels will continue to play a part in the energy industry for decades to come and as well as offering significant fuel savings and emissions reductions, it produces and uses hydrogen ‘on the move’ so there are no issues with production, distribution, storage or conversion.

Extensive R&D and lab testing at the University of Sheffield, followed by extensive road trials in June 2016, confirm the significant impact that the unit can make in terms of fuel efficiency and emissions reductions. The properties of Hydrogen when combusted with carbon fuel, have been well documented, long before even Yull Brown patented his process in 1970. However until relatively recently, producing the right amount of oxy-hydrogen under low pressure, with less than 20amps of electricity, evaded the automotive industry. Every schoolboy has produced hydrogen in the Chemistry lab by dipping two probes connected to a small battery into a beaker of water. However, the introduction of sophisticated materials within the unit and our electronic control unit , ensures that this very basic reaction is converted into a manageable and sustainable source of clean energy.
